SOULAR SYSTEM is a 3 piece rock band playing a blend of rock, blues, reggae and funk tunes. Highlights of the show are the beautiful vocal harmonies, exciting lead guitar solos, a rhythm section and wide range of material covering many styles.

Guitarist and Lead Vocalist : Cory Morgenstern has been performing gigs in the tri state area for over 30 years. Cory has studied with Dizzy Gillespie’s musical director Mike Longo and Charlie Parkers’ pianist Walter Bishop Jr. and has incorporated elements of jazz, rock and funky blues into his playing and singing. Cory has his own recording studio in Hastings on Hudson, NY .

Bass and Lead Vocals:  Chris Warwin

Seasoned veteran has played with Meatloaf, Powerhouse (opened for Santana, Cactus, Buddy Miles  Paul Butterfield and the Beach Boys)

and several Broadway shows (Little shop of Horrors, Footloose, Godspell, Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair and Aida).

Drummer and Lead Vocals: Pete Altobelli  has been playing drums for more than three decades. Pete has studied formally with drum artist Pat Dama. Over the years Pete has added percussion and vocals to his wide rhythm repertoire. Pete has worked with the Stolen Moments Orchestras and most recently Latin Jazz pianist Gilberto Colon. Pete continues to grow as a drummer playing styles from rock, jazz, and R&B.

 

Repertoire includes Rock, Blues, Funk and Reggae covers by Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Spencer Davis, Blues Magoos, as well as I Put a Spell on You by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins (allegedly the father of at least 65 kids!), Superstition, and original material from their debut CD, Soular System "Big Bang".
